Breast cancer starts when healthy cells in the breast change and grow out of control.
What is Breast Cancer?
Breast cancer is a disease in which breast cells multiply uncontrollably. It is the most common cancer in women worldwide. Early detection through regular mammograms significantly increases the chances of successful treatment.
Common Symptoms
- A new lump in the breast or underarm.
- Thickening or swelling of part of the breast.
- Irritation or dimpling of breast skin.
- Redness or flaky skin in the nipple area.
- Pulling in of the nipple or pain in the nipple area.
- Any change in the size or the shape of the breast.
Treatments & Care
Breast cancer treatment is highly personalized and depends on the stage, location, and biological characteristics of the tumor.
Surgery
Can be breast-conserving (lumpectomy) or mastectomy, depending on tumor extent.
Systemic Therapies
Includes chemotherapy, hormone therapy, and biologically targeted therapies.
